I’ve heard the Halloween decor on Cedar Street is over the top. Join me (preferably in costume) for a stroll down Cedar.

We’ll meet on Cedar Street at the corner as it dead ends or intersect N. Lincoln St.

Wednesday November 18 @ 10:30 am Mushrooms & Salamanders

Join CalFire Biologist Robert Douglas at Jackson Demonstration State Forest for a mostly accessible walk with a focus on mushrooms and salamanders. We’ll meet at the Day-Use Area at Camp One (additional details to follow).

Recommendations of things to bring:

• Rain and mud are expected, so whatever rain gear you might want to wear/bring is advisable.
• Mushroom permits for those desiring to collect are required. Here is the Permit Application. Applications can either be mailed in or brought to the main office. Paper copies of the permit applications are also available in the office if preferred. The permit is $20 cash or check.
• A basket or paper bag is recommended if you will be collecting mushrooms
• Warm clothes
• Snacks
• A love for salamanders and mushrooms!
